Artist, and Art Teacher

Janet Utley Wimmer

Janet holds a Master’s degree in Humanities with an emphasis in Studio Art from Hollins University and is passionate about teaching and sharing her knowlege with children and adults who desire to improve their drawing and painting skills.

She currently teaches adults and children in her home studio in Blue Ridge, Virginia. She previously taught for 40 years in various schools K-college. After retiring she challenged herself to a painting a day for one year of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Please see blog at janetwimmer.blogspot.com to see over 500 paintings completed to date for this project. In addition to painting professionally she continues to teach classes at home and online.

Originally from Richmond, Virginia she studied at the University of Richmond, Westhampton College. She loves books, gardening, hiking and all things beautiful.

Her paintings can be found in collections in U.S and Europe.
